The subs are very affordable. You’ll pay only $12 a year for an individual and $15 a year for a family. You can instead take out a 5-year subscription and save money – it’s $50 for an individual and $60 for a family.

Please note that membership applications need to meet the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022 which requires all members of the society to explicitly consent to being a member. Therefore, applications for family membership must include all names in the family and at least one email address.

As a member of the Guardians of Pāuatahanui Inlet:

• • • You will belong to a group of people who value the Inlet and want to ensure that it is well cared for;
    • You can contribute to a community voice that influences Council’s decisions on issues concerning the Inlet environment;
    • You can help in a practical way by taking part in events like:
      • • the annual Inlet Clean-up;
        • the three-yearly Cockle Survey;
        • restoration planting and maintenance
        • pest control.
    • You can be the Inlet’s ‘eyes and ears’, looking out for any pollution and reporting it to Greater Wellington (24-hour number 0800 496 734), as well as to the committee so we can follow up and make sure action has been taken.
